A Welcome, NESA!

The North Eastern Strategic Alliance (NESA) is a nine-county regional economic development organization, serving the northeast corner of South Carolina. NESA's primary objective is to significantly enhance the quality of life for residents of the region by creating additional jobs and capital investment within the existing industry base, recruiting new companies, and expanding tourism-related development. The NESA staff possesses the resources and expertise to assist companies interested in relocating or expanding in the region. NESA will work with representatives from each of its nine counties to identify the best buildings or sites based on a company's needs. From there, extensive research, and guided site tours allow business owners to make a fully educated decision before they commit. CFrench Ambassador  Reception,
a big success

The Ambassador of France to the United States, His Excellency Gérard Araud made his first official visit to Charlotte, North Carolina. He was accompanied by Consul General Denis Barbet and Honorary Consul Laura Meyer Wellman on March 21.

This visit reflected the economic and political interest that France has in developing relations with North Carolina.  Gérard Araud attended a reception hosted by the French-American Chamber of Commerce  of the Carolinas, where he met with members of the local French business community.

About 60 French companies are present in the state in such diverse sectors as biotechnology, aerospace, energy, telecommunications, and chemicals. Also, there is an estimated French population of around 4,500 in the Tar Heel State.
