A is For...April, Adult Hockey, Advertising and the 2nd Annual TC Curling Club Cherry BOMB-spiel!
April provides a bit of a breather around Centre Ice but not for long! The rink will soon be buzzing with the sounds of the 2nd Annual TC Curling Club Cherry BOMB-spiel. A bonspiel is a curling tournament and in this region of "all things cherry," the one that takes place in late April at Centre Ice Arena is aptly named Cherry BOMB-spiel. The teams participating in the tournament have been set for quite some time, but there are opportunities for participating as a volunteer or spectator. If you love watching curling on TV, it's even better in person! Save the dates and join us at Centre Ice Arena for good curling! Details below.
Also in the A category is Adult Hockey. Men's, Women's and Co-Ed hockey provides adults of all skill levels the opportunity to play hockey throughout their life. Whether you choose Drop-In Hockey or commit to League Play, playing hockey is great exercise and entertaining at any age. Two local teams - one women's and one men's - experienced recent success in road tournaments. Check out the photos and details below. If you've been itching to get out on the ice, why not get involved in adult hockey? The fun, exercise and camaraderie are greatly rewarding!

Another A that is very important to the success of all programs at Centre Ice and Howe Arena is Advertising. Next time you're at the rink, take a look around at all the dasher boards, banners and other forms of advertising and as you click through our web site and each issue of
On Ice,
notice who our sponsors are.
Please make it a point to support and thank these fine business partners who are monumental in supporting the I.C.E. mission of "providing accessible and affordable ice skating programs to the Grand Traverse community." In other words, it is due in great part to the support of these business partners that I.C.E. is able to provide the lowest cost of ice time possible to all user groups.
However, businesses don't advertise with Centre Ice just to support a local non-profit organization. They advertise here because it works! We have the Joyce Julius On-Site Inventory Analysis results to prove it as well as long-time supporters that renew their advertising every year. Advertising with I.C.E. is a Win-Win for the business and the community.
Now here's where we can drop in one more A word...Affordable. Our newest digital advertising opportunity on four massive flat screen televisions that grace the main concessions area at Centre Ice starts at just $250/year! That is one VERY affordable way to put your brand in front of the arena's 400,000 visitors. Talk about good return on investment! The 3-Zone format allows for a variety of programming options in the largest zone, a weather feed sponsored by Britten Woodworks in the second zone and rotating ads in the third zone along the bottom of the screen. Those ads will rotate a minimum of 80 times per day per screen for a total of at least 320 rotations per day for superior brand impact! Thanks to local company Visitors Media which has been instrumental in helping us implement this new and exciting entertainment and advertising program.
