Dismuke Selected as 2016 Texas Teacher of the Year Finalist

Katy ISD's 2015 District-wide Elementary Teacher of the Year and Region IV Elementary Teacher of the Year, Christina Dismuke, was announced yesterday as a 2016 Texas Teacher of the Year Finalist by the Texas Association of School Administrators. Dismuke is one of six finalists chosen among the 40 semifinalists across the state. Read more...
Robert R. Shaw Center for STEAM Receives TASA/TASB Caudill Class of 2015 Award

The new Robert R. Shaw Center for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM), designed by Stantec Architects, was recently announced as the recipient of the Caudill Class of 2015 Award as part of the TASA/TASB Exhibit of School Architecture. Additionally, the Robert R. Shaw Center for STEAM received five Stars of Distinction in Community, Design, Planning, Value and School Transformation.  Read more...
Crews Appointed as Area 3 Assistant Superintendent

Katy ISD announced last week that Lee Crews, principal at Morton Ranch High School, has been appointed to serve as the new Assistant Superintendent of Instruction and Administrative Support for Area 3 effective Tuesday, September 1, 2015. On September 1, Julie Hinson, associate principal at Morton Ranch High School, will assume the interim principal role and oversee all campus operations. Read more...

Katy ISD's Partners in Education has debuted its 2015 video entitled "Can You Do VIPS?" - the District's invitation to volunteer. The video pays homage to Katy ISD volunteers who hail from every campus, and is a call to action as the District's volunteer program embarks on a historical, groundbreaking year of service.
