Mayde Creek High School NJROTC Team Wins National Academic Bowl Championship

The Mayde Creek High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) academic team recently won the 2015 NJROTC Academic Bowl Championship in Washington, D.C. for the second consecutive year. The Academic Bowl Championship is a nationally recognized academic competition created exclusively for JROTC students and sponsored by the United States NJROTC program. Read more...
Katy ISD Partners in Education Hosts KEYS Mentor Program Kick Off

Keep Encouraging Youth toward Success (KEYS), the Katy ISD mentor program, will kick off another great year of mentoring on Friday, September 25 from 8-9:30 a.m. in the Merrell Center. KEYS advocate Dr. Jerry Edmonson will share his insights and mentoring experiences, and each Katy ISD campus will host tables for their mentors, along with any community members who might be interested in becoming a mentor. Gifted and Talented Screening for Current 5th Grade Students

Students in fifth grade who are not currently identified for the elementary Challenge Program, will have the opportunity to be screened for Gifted and Talented Program services, which begin in the fall of sixth grade. Secondary gifted program options are available in English, reading, mathematics, science and social studies. Read more...
