April 14, 2016

Motivational speaker Ted Wiese will be conducting a leadership workshop  for all sophomores on Wednesday,  Apr. 20 and Thursday, Apr. 21 . Ted is from Carmel, Indiana and will present his full-day program that will help develop and/or improve sophomores' leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills (more information available here).

Sophomore students will not be attending regular classes on Wednesday,  Apr. 20 and Thursday, Apr. 21. Instead, half of the sophomores will take their state tests in American History one day while the other half of sophomores will attend the workshop. This is a reminder that for sophomores only, the school day starts at 8:05 a.m. on Wednesday, Apr. 20. For freshmen, juniors, and seniors, it is a late start block  Wednesday on  Apr. 20.

The leadership day will use a combination of real life stories and dynamic activities to challenge our sophomores to become leaders. If you have questions about this experience, please contact me.

Soccer Balls Needed - LAST CALL
Contributions Accepted Week of Monday, Apr. 11
Each year 70,000 refugees are admitted to the U.S. from countries where they are fleeing social, political or religious persecution. Last year approximately 225 refugees came to Dayton through Catholic Social Services of the Miami Valley - many from African countries, many of them children. While Catholic Social Services provides some donated toys to the children, they do not have an inventory of soccer balls. During the week of April 11, we are seeking donations of used soccer balls. Soccer balls can be dropped off at Chaminade Julienne and directed to Men's Soccer Coach Alex Vandersluijs. Any size ball will be accepted!
