Garden Volunteering Open House
Join us on Tuesday, April 26th from 10-11 am for light refreshments, to tour the Hospice Caring gardens, and to learn about garden volunteering opportunities.  Hospice Caring's gardens (in Gaithersburg) provide welcoming, quiet, and healing spaces for families, staff, volunteers, and the community.  Garden volunteers help with basic gardening essentials one morning each month. No heavy lifting, cutting, or pruning required.

Raise Your Glass Wine Tasting
Join us on Thursday, May 12 from 6:30-8:30 pm for our second annual Raise Your Glass wine tasting fundraiser at the home of Jeffrey Slavin in Chevy Chase, MD.  This elegant evening will feature a delicious tasting of wines, hors d'oeuvres, raffle prizes, and free valet parking.  Purchase tickets now!

Memorial Day Flags to Honor Heroes
Each year on Memorial Day weekend, Bohrer Park (the home of the Hospice Caring Cottage) is filled with 750 American flags that are sponsored by individuals who wish to honor their heroes 

Please consider sponsoring one or more flags at $50 each by using  this form  so that 50% of your contribution will go to Hospice Caring and the other 50% will go to our partners at the Montgomery Village and Gaithersburg Rotary Club Foundation for other charitable activities. Courageous
 Conversations Workshop
You're invited to join experts Jackie Ogg, MSW, LGSW, Maryland Pao, M.D., and Lori Wiener, PhD, DCSW, on   Friday, May 6th from 9 am - 12:15 pm  for an in-depth discussion of the role of social and emotional support for seriously ill adolescents and young adults. This workshop has been moved to a new location:  Casey Community Center, 810 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg, MD 20877.

Camp Caring Now  Accepting  Applications
Camp Caring is a FREE overnight weekend camp for children, grades 2-5, who are grieving the death of a loved  one.   At camp,  children are paired with trained adult Big Buddies to explore their feelings through sharing memories, expressive arts, trust and bonding activities and recreation.  Video.  |  Brochure English  Brochure Spanish

Congratulations, Penny! 
Penny Gladhill, our Director of Bereavement Services and one of the founders of Hospice Caring, was honored by the the  Soroptimist International of Upper Montgomery County Maryland  on April 10 with a Ruby Award  and $500 donation to Hospice Caring for her work to improve conditions for women and girls, as well as everyone in our county.

After a 30 year relationship and a 25 year engagement, former Hospice Caring Executive Director (1997- 2006) Lisa McKillop married George Fordham on February 10th at the Collier County Courthouse in Naples, Florida. Penny Gladhill, Jerry and Carol Gimmel and Jacquie and Steve Tennant were among the attendees.
