Healthy living is broader than just our reproductive health.
Reproductive Justice means women and girls having the right to lead healthy lives and raise healthy families. Physical exercise is fundamental to leading healthy lives and changing dangerous trends of how we eat, rest and maintain our health. Physical exercise is part of self-care, an important tenet of Reproductive Justice and a crucial component to achieving optimum wellness as women and girls.
African Americans, particularly in the South, have some of the highest rates of hypertension, obesity, diabetes and heart disease. The lack of healthcare coverage among southern states only exacerbates this issue.
At some point, we must take our health into our own hands. The time is NOW.
