Annual General Meeting and Holiday Party

We look forward to seeing all of you on Tuesday, November 10th for the Houston IIBA Annual General Meeting and Holiday Party.

What is an Annual General Meeting (AGM)? An AGM is where members of an organization come together to vote on items of importance to the organization.

Do I have to be a Chapter Member to attend? The meeting is open to anyone who wishes to attend. Please feel free to share with anybody you think is or may be interested in the field of Business Analysis. Please register by noon on November 10th so we can give the business a preliminary headcount.

What is being voted on at this AGM? This year we will be filling 5 Board positions. Members of the Board are members of the Chapter who donate time and expertise to make our events and Chapter the best it can be. Here are the candidates:

• Allie Schott - Current President 
• Diana Anthony - Current VP Members 
• Ed Sobash
• Kristin Gonzalez - Current VP Education 
• Joanne Garcia  

Who is eligible to vote? All Chapter Members in good standing may vote in the elections.

Who is eligible to run for election? Any Chapter Member in good standing may run for election by either:

1. Sending an e-mail to Info@Houston.IIBA.Org before November 9th, 2015.
2. Advising Kathy Bieltz before 6:00 PM on November 10th, 2015 at the event.

What else will voted on during the AGM? The Chapter ByLaws have been updated and a vote will be taken to accept the modifications. A copy of the current and proposed ByLaws will be available on the Chapter website (HoustonIIBA.Org) on Friday November 6th, 2015 for you to download and review. The Chapter President (Allie) will detail the major modifications verbally during the AGM prior to the vote.

How will voting be done? In the event that there are more than five (5) candidates running for election and/or re-election there will be a paper ballot given to each Chapter Member when they arrive and will be placed by the Member into a collection box/hat/whatever to be counted by non-running Chapter Member(s). If there are only 5 candidates then the slate can be elected by a Chapter Member placing a motion to accept all candidates, which if then seconded and agreed to by the majority of the present Members will mean all 5 are elected. An equivalent process will occur for the ByLaw modifications.

Why should you come?

• Take part in charting the course of our Chapter.
• Have a chance to win prize(s) in the lottery. Please note that you must be present at the time of the drawing to win a prize and that drawings will occur throughout the event.

How many lottery tickets will I get? Well, that's up to YOU.

• Each attendee will receive two (2) tickets upon arrival.
• Anybody arriving before 6:00 PM will receive an additional ticket.
• For every guest you bring, you and your guest will both get one additional ticket.
• Anybody who joins or renews Chapter Membership at the meeting will get an additional ticket. (Any early renewal will add 12 calendar months to your existing Chapter Membership Expiration Date.
