Report to the People
NC State Extension in Currituck County will hold their annual "Report to the People" on  Monday, April 18  at the Historic Courthouse in Currituck.  Events for the public will begin at  4pm  on the historic courthouse lawn and will include the AgriPride Combine Simulator and program displays.  The public is welcome and invited to "take a ride" on the combine simulator to experience some of what it is like to harvest crops common to our area.

Day Camp

Registration is now open for 4-H Camp Mesowannago. 4-H Camp Mesowannago is a four-day camp experience for youth ages 5-12 (must have completed kindergarten). Camp will be held  8 am - 6 pm   Monday  thru  Thursday  at the NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center on Community Way in Barco. Daily activities will include: Opening Ceremony, Singing, Organized Sports, Games, Crafts and Hands-On Science Workshops. The 2016 science topics are: "Engineering is Elementary", "Energy Makes the World Go Round", "The Science Chef" and "Plant Power".
Flower & Garden Show

The Currituck County Extension Master Gardeners are hosting the 2016 Currituck Home, Flower and Garden Show TODAY,  April 15  from  12 pm to 4 pm  and  tomorrow April 16  from  9 am to 4 pm . This admission free, public event will be held at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Currituck County Center located at 120 Community Way in Barco, North Carolina. The theme for this year's show is "Plants That Keep on Giving" and will showcase perennials, reseeding annuals, fruiting plants, and plant composting opportunities.
 Canning Series

The 2016 Home Food Preservation Series by NC State Extension in Currituck County will begin on  Friday, May 27th .  This year's classes include: jams and jellies, pressure canning, tomatoes, and butters. For an introduction to food preservation check our website for our free online Canning 101 class. The on site classes have a $15.00 registration fee and class size is limited. "Eat healthy, be healthy" and take advantage of spring and summer produce.
