Dismissal Guidelines
ACTION ON DISMISSAL GUIDELINES SLATED FOR SPRING PRESBYTERY MEETING: At our upcoming April 30 Presbytery meeting at Elkin Presbyterian Church, Salem's Commission on Ministry (COM) will ask the body to act on a revised set of guidelines for dismissal of churches from the PC(USA). COM's proposed guidelines come after a twelve-month period of discernment and deliberations, and after receiving input from various Salem constituents. Information from the COM, together with the proposed revisions and Presbytery's current guidelines, may be accessed HERE. Members of Presbytery are urged to review this information prior to the April 30 meeting. Installed pastors, CREs, and others are urged to share this information with their ruling elder commissioners prior to the April 30 meeting.
