Welcome New WEConnect International Staff!

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Greta Schettler as its new Vice President and Shade Ladipo as the new Executive Director of WEConnect International in Nigeria.

Greta will head up global efforts to scale our rapidly growing organization, lead our executive management team, and develop the performance driven culture. A proven executive and entrepreneur, she has a wealth of experience in designing and scaling efforts to advance women's economic participation and entrepreneurship through development, trade, economic, and international business initiatives. Shade will provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to WEConnect International in Nigeria in accordance with our core values and purpose. She is a travel and media entrepreneur and social activist. She has been recognized by several platforms for her work as a change agent and businesswoman. Read More

In March, we also welcomed our Certification Program Assistant Turquoise Holloway and Office Assistant Vincent Nicosia to our Washington, DC-based team. Turquoise will assist in the certification and self-registration of women-owned businesses globally. Vincent will be responsible for supporting the overall administration and operations of the organization. Read More

Elizabeth A. Vazquez Joins UN Panel on Women's Economic Empowerment

President, CEO and Co-Founder of WEConnect International, Elizabeth A. Vazquez, will serve on the newly formed UN Secretary-General's High Level Panel on Women's Economic Empowerment.   In addition to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, Panel Members will include world leaders such as the President of the World Bank Group, Jim Yong Kim, the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Christine Lagarde, the President of Costa Rica, Luis Guillermo SolĂ­s Rivera, and the CEO of IKEA, Simona Scarpaleggio.

Job Opening: WEConnect International Market Lead for Peru

We're looking for a market lead to provide leadership, vision and strategic direction to WEConnect International in Peru in accordance with our core values and purpose in cooperation with our Washington, DC-based staff. The market lead will be responsible for the development and management of WEConnect International in Peru and to ensure proper governance and accountability. She or he will develop corporate and public sector support for women business owners and develop and engage certified women-owned businesses and corporate members in Peru, among other responsibilities.
