The members of the Council with SLUSD Deputy Superintendent Dr. Rosanna Mucetti.
The first meeting of the District Youth Leadership Council was held on Thursday, March 24 in San Leandro City Hall.
The members of the council spent the first meeting getting to know their fellow council members and also familiarizing themselves with the district's Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and what their role in the LCAP process will be.
The council will meet twice more this school year and will reconvene in the fall to serve throughout the 2016-17 school year.

CAASPP Testing to Start Across SLUSD
The California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) testing will begin as early as this week at some sites across the district. Each school will follow a different schedule, so if you are unsure of when the testing will begin at your student's school, check the school website and/or contact the school directly.
The CAASPP tests include extended response and technology enhanced items (such as audio and interactive exercises) as well as performance tasks to allow students to demonstrate critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. The computer portion of the test is given to grades 3-5, 6-8 and 11. The paper/pencil (science) portion of the test is given to grades 5, 8 and 10. CAASPP results will be available in the fall of 2016.
Visit the California Department of Education website for more information on the CAASPP System.
