College Jumpstart Scholarship-Deadline 4/15/15

Scholarship Databases: Create a profile with Fastweb.com and Sallie Mae to begin receiving information on scholarships you may qualify for. It's free and easy!
Upcoming Summer Programs 

Week long leadership training in Sacramento for 10th grade only. Free. Application opens in March.

For 9th and 10th grader students to participate in a week long training in Washington DC. Students will learn to be engaged citizens, will meet with key leaders, participate in visits, and learn to make a change in their community. Program is free and deadline is April 17th. 

CYTT Summer College Residence Program:
Students reside at USC during a week long training. Students participate with other youth leaders in a challenging activities designed to bolster leadership. Fee is $475 and includes housing, meals, trainings,supplies, etc.

10th grade only. Scientific research, hands-on exposure to scientific and engineering practices. March 1st deadline.

Community College Courses
Class schedules will be released in March-April. Consider taking a course and gain college credit while in high School.
AISS-Achievement Institute of Scientific Studies
Requirements: 10th grader, 3.5 GPA, Math or Science interest, qualify for free/reduced lunch, parent/student 2 year commitment
Benefits: Laptop during senior year, $500-$800 stipend for college applications, critical thinking workshops and activities along with STEM based trips, SAT/ACT prep classes, and writing workshops.

Community Service
Community Service-Giving back to your community is essential and demonstrates that you care about those who surround you. Universities seek for students who serve their community. Scholarships like to give to those who give their time to their community. For a list of possible locations, click here
Community Service Awards- Students who complete 50, 100 or 150 hours of community service will receive a special Academy award to recognize their time.  
IMPORTANT TEST DATES (10th grade only)
CAHSEE- California High School Exit Exam English will take place March 17 and Mathematics will take place on March 18th

CST--Science will take place on April 28th in Biology classes.

AP Exams- Spanish Lang. 05/07, Euro History 05/08, Biology 05/11
Full payment for AP exams is due 3/18/15. If utilizing a check, please make it payable to The Academy Charter High School. Payment plan also available.
Cal Poly Pomona Programming Class
Interested in learning about programming? Interested in adding something great to your resume? Interested in obtaining a certificate after completion? If you answered yes to these questions, then you need to take advantage of Cal Poly's newly designed programming class.

This online class will teach you how to write your own computer programs using VBA language and understand the logic of programming.

The school of Mechanical Engineering offers you the opportunity to take this online class for FREE. Please see Ms.Rocio for more information.
Ongoing Programs
Outdoor Adventure Program
The City of Santa Ana's Nature Park Center has a teen leadership and outdoor adventure program at Santiago Park. They meet the second and fourth Thursday of every month to explore the outdoors, learn about restoration and conservation of wild lands.
