YOUR COUNSELOR IS HERE TO HELP
As your counselor, I am here to help you reach your academic goals, personal goals, college and career goals. I will be meeting with you individually but please feel free to meet with me as often as you would like. Sometimes personal problems crop up that you aren't sure how to handle. I have a listening ear.
SAT/ACT Question of the Day
To begin to prepare for the SAT/ACT students can sign up to receive the SAT and ACT question of the day by signing up with the college board here and the ACT here. Students with smartphones can also download applications to help prepare for the exams.
Visit a University

You can make reservations to tour universities. The following are two examples. Feel free to search a university that grabs your attention and schedule a visit.
  • UCLA: Walking campus tour led by a UCLA student . To schedule your tour visit, click here.
  • CSUF: Walking campus tour led by CSUF student. To schedule your tour visit, click here
Open House:  An exciting day of events for prospective students and families to hear academic presentations, tour the campus and residences.
  • Chapman: Takes place at the end of October. To resgister, click here.
  • USC: Takes place mid november. Register here.
Virtual Tours: You can always virtually visit universities that peak your interest. Search the name of the university followed by virtual tour. 
Get involved!
Extra-curricular activities look great when applying to college, a post-secondary program, scholarship, internship and a job.  Some examples of involvement include community service, sports, clubs, leadership, community college class, or participating in a program. 

Club meetings will be happening in the next few weeks. Look for posters and announcements. Freshmen will have the opportunity to run for ASB after attending an informational meeting next Thursday, August 27th in Room 313 during lunch.

Scholarship Databases
Create profiles with Fastweb.comSallie MaeCollegeBoard, Unigo and College Greenlight. You will then begin to receive information on scholarships you may qualify for. It's free and easy!
Parent University Night
 Save the Date!
Ms. Rocio and the Junior League bring you a night of valuable information regarding college and career preparation. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 14th at 5:30. A flyer will be mailed home in September.
New Office
 I am now located in building G on the first floor. Next to my office you will find college brochures, financial aid information, community service logs and much more. Please feel free to take what you'd like.
