Attend the 2014 Joint Arts Education Conference!


The 2014 Joint Arts Education Conference: Mapping the Future will provide attendees with the tools and resources they need to chart a course for success in their schools and communities.

 

Conference attendees will:

* be the first to see updated census data about access to arts education in our state,

* have hands-on opportunities to explore how arts learning is impacted by Arizona's College and Career Ready Standards,

* have a voice in the current revisions to Arizona's State Arts Standards,

* learn about successful national models, program evaluation, arts leadership strategies and more.

 

Join your colleagues from across the state to make connections, explore these topics and deepen your work helping students, schools and communities benefit from learning in, through and about the arts!

 

Presented by the Arizona Commission on the Arts and the Arizona Department of Education, the conference will take place at the Phoenix Art Museum on Monday, October 20, 2014. Early-Bird Registration ends September 5, 2014. Don't miss out on the $95 rate!

Arts Learning Grants - Cycle B Now Open!
DEADLINE: October 2, 2014

Arts Learning Grants provide matching funds for quality arts learning projects which support lifelong learning in, through and/or about the arts. Projects may provide learning opportunities for participants of any age and can take place in a variety of settings and formats. Schools, school districts and non-profit social service/community organizations are eligible to apply.

Poetry Out Loud Registration Now Open!
 
Registration for the 2014-2015 season of Poetry Out Loud will be open through October 24, 2014.

Poetry Out Loud (POL) is a national poetry recitation contest that provides free classroom materials for teachers and scholarship opportunities for students. POL is open to all Arizona students, grades 9-12. Learn more about POL and register your school online at www.azarts.gov/pol.

Arts Education Partnership National Forum September 11-12, 2014 Pittsburgh, PA

Arizona's Academic Standards in the Arts are being revised!

Join the conversation and contribute to the revision of our state's academic standards in the arts. You can participate by providing feedback via online surveys as well as serving on the revision and editorial committees. Arizona Dance Education Organization (AzDEO) is hosting an opportunity for high school students and community college students interested in transferring to a four-year institution to connect and learn about opportunities in dance in Arizona higher education institutions. In addition, higher education institutions may register to market their program and recruit high school students. The Arizona Department of Education is proud to sponsor their 4th Annual Student Artwork Competition. The 2014-2015 theme is The Art of Science. Arizona Art Tank

DEADLINE: September 18, 2014

Arizona Art Tank is a funding initiative of the Arizona Commission on the Arts that makes strategic investments in arts-based ventures that best reflect the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of Arizona's arts & culture sector. At public events in four Arizona communities, top applicants will pitch their ventures to a live audience and an expert panel who will award up to $10,000 in grant funding to the top-scoring ventures at each event. http://www.azarts.gov/grants/special-initiatives/ 

 

Artist Research and Development Grants

DEADLINE: September 18, 2014

The Arizona Commission on the Arts' Artist Research and Development Grant recognizes the contributions individual artists make to Arizona's communities and provides funding support of up to $5,000 for artists from all disciplines to advance their artistic research and develop their artistic work. http://www.azarts.gov/grants/artists/

 

P. Buckley Moss Foundation Arts Education Grants

DEADLINE: September 30, 2014

For educators who need assistance to further their program goals, the P. Buckley Moss Foundation for Children's Education has grants available for up to $1,000. Applications may be made to support a new or evolving program that integrates the arts into educational programming. The purpose is to aid and support teachers who wish to establish an effective learning tool using the arts in teaching children who learn differently. http://mossfoundation.org/teacher-art-grants

 

Professional Development Grants - Cycle B

DEADLINE: October 2, 2014

The Arizona Commission on the Arts' Professional Development Grant is designed to assist Arizona artists, arts administrators and arts educators with funding support for participation in professional development and skills-building activities which contribute to significant professional growth.
