The question for this month comes from a student at the Cedar Rapids site: "I hear a lot about networking. Why is this important?"

"Networking plays an important role in industry, even beyond your career pursuit. Building strong operational, strategic, and supporting networks allows for free information flow, keeps you in conversations regarding a variety of opportunities and possible problems, and lets you connect dots that you might not otherwise see. As students, we have a great opportunity to conduct informational interviews with alums or people from industry to learn from their experiences. These learning opportunities provide an outlet for us to build relationships with these individuals that could be very valuable to us in the future." - Kyle Wehr
