Relief Map of Ojai Valley circa 1959

Now Open! Movement along several East-West trending faults over the last 10 to 15 million years created many beautiful geologic features and landforms nearby the Ojai Valley. Explore the ancient and dramatic geologic events that have helped make the valley the way it is today. A three-dimensional topographical map hand-built by Ojai resident, Richard Dodd, and wall text written by retired geologist, Don Scanlin, add to this mini-science exhibit in the Alcove Gallery. The art of cartography (map making) is also featured. Click here to see the geologic history of Southern California on the move.
