Prevent Infection 
Wash Your Hands

 

With flu season in full gear, preventing the spread of germs and infection is crucial, especially for those who are immunocompromised. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides easy hand washing 

tips in order to help prevent infections:

  • Before, during and after cooking food
  • Before you eat
  • After going to the bathroom
  • After changing diapers or helping a child use the bathroom
  • After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
  • After touching or cleaning up after your pet
  • After touching trash
  • Before and after treating a cut or wound, caring for a catheter, port or other 
    access device

The Taste of the Tournament is only the beginning of 

the fun as it kicks off a week of golf with the Fakier 

Open, Houma's only professional golf tournament. 

Adams Pro Tour professionals are excited to return 

once again to Houma April 20 - 25 and play the 

beautiful layout of Ellendale Country Club. Golfing 

events include a free junior clinic, Pro-AM tournament and a professional tournament.

 

There are many sponsorship and team opportunities for everyone to have fun and raise proceeds for the fight against cancer.

Individual Tobacco 
Cessation Counseling 
Kick the Habit!

 

Quitting can be a challenge, but we can help! The Cancer Center's Geaux Free program offers free individual counseling for cancer patients and family members who use tobacco. Sessions are available 

on Tuesdays by appointment and are facilitated by a certified tobacco treatment specialist.

 

You can begin to enjoy the benefits of quitting tobacco sooner than you think!

Hotel Partners with Center
Candlewood Suites Now Open in Houma

A new hotel in the Houma area, Candlewood Suites, recently partnered with the Cancer Center to help in the local fight against cancer. Ten percent of the nightly rate for designated rooms will benefit the Center.
