City Manager Seeks Input on FY2016 Budget

The City recently began the Fiscal Year (FY) 2016 budget process and is inviting the public to participate.  Over the last few weeks, departments have been working to identify their needs and priorities for the coming fiscal year.  During the month of October, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has been reaching out to the public to solicit their input on the most important outcomes for the City.  City Council will hear the results of these efforts in early November as they develop their FY 2016 budget guidance.

As part of the October outreach to the public, City staff posted a prioritization exercise on AlexEngage, an online forum for civic engagement.  The prioritization exercise asks respondents to rank the outcomes that the City is trying to achieve.  The exercise can be found at http://www.peakdemocracy.com/2223 and is available through Wednesday, November 5.  The results will be shared with City Council at their Saturday, November 8 Retreat in advance of their issuing budget guidance to the City Manager.
