Lake Geneva Jaycees Support YMCA/City Sports
A big thank you to the Lake Geneva Jaycees for their generous $6,600 donation to YMCA/City of Lake Geneva youth baseball & softball programs!   The YMCA will use these funds to purchase  pitching machines and new bats & helmets.  

More than 500 boys & girls participated in YMCA/City baseball & softball last summer, & we anticipate even more kids playing this year. The new equipment sponsored by the Jaycees will enhance our growing program & make for a successful season!

GYST Swimmers Host Successful Swim-a-Thon & Prepare for Championship Meets
Congratulations to the Geneva Y Swim Team & Master's Dolphins Team on a successful swim-a-thon on Jan. 10.  Together teams raised more than $7,000! Thank you to everyone who supported this fun, 2nd annual community event! 

Funds raised will be used to purchase new equipment for the swim teams & pool and to bring 2 TEAM USA OLYMPIC SWIMMERS to Lake Geneva later this spring lead a special Mutual of Omaha Breakout Swim Clinic. The Olympians are Misty Hyman, gold medalist in the 200 butterfly, & five-time medalist Ian Crocker. The YMCA is ecstatic to have the opportunity to host such a distinguished event, & our swimmers are looking forward to learning a lot from these talented athletes! Stay tuned for more information on this exciting swim clinic.

A special thank you to the following companies for supporting our swim-a-thon: Robinson Wholesale Inc., AutoZone & Mercy Health Systems, as well as Shore Club for donating the food for our post-swim breakfast! 

In other team news... We are pleased to report that to date, six of our GYST swimmers have qualified to swim at the YMCA state meet on March 20-22 in Milwaukee!  The team is preparing for the YMCA Sectionals Championships on March 14 & 15 in Oconomowoc. We are looking forward to seeing some fast swimming & qualifying more team members for state! Good luck GYST!

Thank you to everyone who joined us at the 29th Annual YMCA Auction on Feb. 21. We had 420 attendees & raised nearly $50,000 for the YMCA.

Proceeds will support the YMCA Annual Campaign, which funds YMCA programs, community outreach initiatives & the Y financial assistance program.  

Thank you again for your support! We're looking forward to next year's 30th Anniversary Event!

Family Laser Tag Games - Friday, March 13, 5:30-7:30 pm

Have a blast with your family & friends in the Y gym during this action-packed, 2-hour laser tag games event offered by Wisconsin Battlefield Live.  Pre-registration is required, & a minimum of 12 must be registered for program to run. Cost:  $30/person. Future dates: April 10.

AQUATICS...

Register Now for Spring Swim Lessons 

Learn, refresh & refine your swimming skills BEFORE summer! Group lessons are available for ages 6 months - adult. Affordable private lessons are also offered and are a great option for adults who want to overcome a fear of water or learn to swim for fitness. Our semi-private lessons are perfect for small groups of 2-4 friends/siblings who want to learn together.  Learn more.

 

Adult Swim Lessons/Stroke Clinic Begins March 9

This stroke clinic is a series of small group training sessions for those wanting to perfect their freestyle (front crawl) for triathlons or just to improve in swimming technique. DATES: March 9, 16, 30 & April 6. TIME: 6:15-7 am.  Cost: $25 for Y members. Learn more.

 

COMMUNITY & TRAININGS...

Lifeguard Certification Course
This is a comprehensive, 2-year certification course that includes the necessary CPR/AED training you need to become a Red Cross certified lifeguard.  Classes fill quickly, so early registration is recommended.  You must attend each class & pass a written & skills exam to achieve certification.   Date/Times:  April 16 (6-9 pm), 18 (8:30am -5 pm), 19 (12:30-4:30pm), 23 (5:30-9pm), 25 (8:30-3:30pm).

Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED Certification Course  
March 21, 8:30 am -2:30 pm

This course incorporates the latest science & teaches students to recognize & care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat & cold emergencies & how to respond to breathing & cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age.  Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate valid for two years.  Register at the Y or call 262-248-6211.  

 

Food Pantry Needs

The YMCA is a drop-off site for the Lake Geneva food pantry.  They are in need of spices this month.  Drop off donations in the food pantry bin located in the Y entryway & we'll deliver them to the Food Pantry.  Thank you!
