LEGISLATURE FOCUSES ON HEROIN AND DRUG OVERDOSE POLICIES
The General Assembly's Committees overseeing health policy focused on heroin and drug overdoses this week, hearing testimony from across the state about the alarming plague of opioid-driven problems. "First responders" and public health advocates have joined with local governments in calling for quick, flexible action to empower the best local solutions. Refreshed grant programs, first responder immunity, and local-option services are all among the topics drawing attention as the legislature debates what steps can be taken quickly.
