HOLIDAY SHOPPERS!
Dreading the post-Thanksgiving holiday shopping rush? Great news! You can skip the lines and the crowds (and the crowded lines) and STILL let that impossible-to-buy-for writer in your life know how much you care by sending them a Writers' League of Texas Gift Certificate.

Give the gift of membership (which comes with all sorts of benefits & discounts) OR gift a ticket to an upcoming class or event (including the recently announced 2015 Agents & Editors Conference). Trust us, it's the gift that truly keeps on giving. Click here! (It's easy. We promise.)

However, if you do decide to venture out and brave the crowds, we couldn't miss the opportunity to encourage you to visit some of our bookseller friends, near and far. The following bookstores are kind enough to offer Writers' League of Texas members a 10% discount with proof of membership. They show us the love all year round; let's show them the love during the holiday season:

Writers' League of Texas 2015 Manuscript Contest
Open for submission
November 1, 2014-January 31, 2015.

Have you been working hard on an unpublished manuscript that's finally ready to see the light of day?

Consider submitting a short synopsis and the opening pages of your unpublished work to the Writers' League's 15th annual Manuscript Contest.

Our manuscript contest (with ten categories) opens the door to several wonderful opportunities, such as the chance to meet with a literary agent at our 2015 Agents & Editors Conference, receive a professional critique of your work by a published author, find out how your first ten pages ranks against others in your genre and more!

(And no, you don't have to live in Texas to enter this contest. It's open to everyone, everywhere!)

Entries can be made both on and offline. For a complete list of guidelines and to download the entry form, click here
