Volunteer Opportunities
|
Girls Golf: Changing lives one swing at a time Volunteers are needed to help with "pre-event activities" and "day of event" activities with the LPGA-USGA 2015 program. An informational meeting for interested parties will be held on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Diamond Oaks GC. More information about the program can be viewed here.
US Senior Open

| President's Holiday Message |

We certainly have chosen THE right person to be our Social Chair for 2015! Cindy Merrell's home was set up beautifully for our Holiday Social last Sunday. Seventeen of us ate amazing food, and laughed so much our sides ached, at Tyra Jarvis's reading of a "left/right" version of "The Night Before Christmas", which told us which way to pass our gifts!
The LCR dice game was a hoot..."thanks" to Pam Katros, and a few of us came away with a handful of dollar bills, you would have thought they were $100's, by the yelling and hollering that went on! A HUGH "thank you" to to Cindy and Pam for setting up such a great event.
Thank you to those of you who responded to our survey. Nancy Lyons, Director of Member Services and Theresa Stamey summarized it for the Board, and we are using those results to set up your 2015 calendar.
There were many milestones throughout 2014 that each of you contributed to and I just want to say "thank you" to everyone that volunteered their time, ideas, passion and energy into making the Sacramento EWGA Chapter the "BEST".
You thought 2014 was great, just wait until you see all the things your amazing Board has in store for you in 2015. Our Kick Off Breakfast Event will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m., with 9 holes of golf after (weather permitting), at Haggin Oaks, our new Home Club.
Hopefully you saw last weeks eBlast, where Del Sayles-Owen, Director of Golf Programs and Services, introduced you to our new Corporate Sponsor, Cohn Reznick LLC, and their 11 women employees, who are our newest members. One of their East Coast officers, who have EWGA members, contacted them to give us a try. We are very excited to welcome them into our chapter. Our national EWGA President, even mentioned us in her Members Webinar last week.
Pam Katros, Director of Events and Actives, Tammy Pinnick, Director of Marketing, Barbara Richards, Director of Finance and Records, Fern Lukka, Director of Member Recruitment, and, Nancy Lyons, Director of Member Services, have also hit the road running on your behalf. We all wish you a very Happy Holiday season, filled with family, friends, joy and lots of love!

William Land GC on Saturday, December 13 - A great time was had by all!

This was our last time in 2014 to play a fun scramble round of golf together. Eight ladies showed up and braved the cold and the wet course conditions. A big thank you to William Land GC for giving us an EWGA special rate and complimentary pull carts! Anchor Pam Katros and her team won the scramble but Anchor Clare Payne and team put up a good fight. It was great to have Laura Wilder, one of our newest members from CohnReznick join in the fun for her first round of golf ever.
Afterwards, we all gathered at the course's Mulligans Cafe for champagne toasts, great fun and good food!

WOW! This was a fun Holiday Potluck, White Elephant & LCR!!! - December 14

  On Sunday, December 14, Cindy Merrall hosted us at her home for our Holiday affair. Between the fun gift exchange and the LCR game, everyone had a smile on their face. Those that won one of the LCR games, really had a smile on their face. And, the food was wonderful!
Thank you Pam and Cindy for organizing such a wonderful event!

| First Fantasy 18 Eclectic Results! |

Our organizer, Kris Corbridge of the first Fantasy 18 Eclectic event has announced the winners! Seventeen members tried to complete the arduous task of playing. A total of seven finished the 18 holes! The players were divided into two flights, those above a 20 handicap and those below. The results are:
First Flight
1st Place: Kris Corbridge with a score of 57.5
2nd Place: Vicki Philpott with a score of 59.5
3rd Place: Patricia Ickes with a score of 63.75
4th Place: Pam Katros with a score of 75.75
Second Flight
1st Place: Leslie Lang with a score of 66.75
2nd Place: Sharon Blume with a score of 69.5
3rd Place: Shelley Van Drimmelen with a score of 71.5
1st Place winners received $60, 2nd Place winners $40 and 3rd Place winners $35 each.
Everyone that participated enjoyed the event even if they weren't able to complete all 18 holes!
If you would like to run this event next year, please let Pam know you're in!

Are they crazy? 100 holes of golf in one day? Well it's been CANCELLED because of wet weather!!!

Charlotte Wells and Leslie Lang or "Team Langwell" are doing a "golf marathoner" in the inaugural "Sacramento Golf Marathon" at a date TBD at Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The money raised will support the Morton Golf Foundation that is established and operated exclusively for charitable purposes. Both Charlotte and Leslie are raising funds to help them with their "marathoner", so contact them if you can help.

It's that time of year again. If you are a member of NCGA, you need to renew between now and January 2015. If you are a member of PWGA, you need to renew by January 2015. If you are a former member of NCGA, you need to rejoin. If you are a former member of PWGA, you need to rejoin. If you've never been a member of NCGA or PWGA, you need to look into it. If you don't care about NCGA or PWGA, you don't need to do anything, but if you do, here's the link to our Website to join or renew. Here's the link!
