Wild Wings Patrons Partake in Bird L.A. Day in a Big Way!
We had an incredible turnout for our Saturday afternoon Malibu Creek SP walk - 81 in all! With so many birdwatchers, sometimes finding birds can be problematic, but our group was simply awesome. Everyone participated from beginning to end. From finding birds to helping others get on a bird that was in view, everyone worked together as a group. It really was a team effort! Most had great looks at Lazuli Bunting, Blue Grosbeak and Nanday Parakeet - a few of our target birds for the day. We scored big with a nesting pair of American Kestrels who were taking advantage of a cavity in a magnificent Valley Oak tree. It was also nice to see pair of Downey Woodpeckers along with the expected Nuttall's and Acorn Woodpeckers. All and all it was a fantastic afternoon with a wonderful group of people. Birding can be fun on so many levels and we definitely reached another level today, on a day set aside for bird lovers in the City of Angels!
