Good Monday,
Did you hear? It may snow on Friday and the thermometer may not get above 40 degrees. The good news; Spring is just around the corner.  In the meantime, consider getting involved at Bethel Baptist Church.

Consider this! The halloween frenzy in our culture is for real but with it comes a real opportunity to engage the hearts, minds, and stomachs of the children of this community. I am speaking about the TRUNK OR TREAT activity that is scheduled for Friday evening.  I am grateful for Becky Durden's willingness to head up our effort to offer the only real answer to the death that stalks us all and the culture of death that seems to consume us.

The Lord's Day to come: We have completed our series topical series, "What would Jesus say", and  this week will spend quality time reflecting upon the importance of regular spiritual evaluation and the need for a burden to see God do great things in our lives. Why not read Nehemiah 1 and 2 in preparation for Sunday.

WHAT WE  LEARNED LAST WEEK!
This past Lord's Day the Trek club pushed deeper into the book of Genesis and considered the distinctiveness of the human race. Adam's need for a companion took him first to the animal kingdom where he found nothing suitable, and his search only ended when under God's Divine surgery, Eve was created and presented unto him. The human race was created with a wonderful distinctiveness at is core and we cheapen the work of God when we presume upon God's wisdom to diminish or eliminate that distinctiveness.  AND THAT'S WHAT WE LEARNED IN TREK

FROM THE TEXT--
"Truth in the Scriptures is more than fact...A fact may be detached, impersonal, cold, and totally disassociated from life. Truth on the other hand, is warm, living, and Spiritual. A theological fact may be help in the mind for a lifetime without  it having any positive effect on the moral character. But truth is creative, saving, transforming, and it always changes the one who receives it into a humbler, holier man." pg. 92
