It's hard to believe this is our last issue of Mitzvah Madness for 2014 - and, actually, forever! For many years, Mitzvah Madness has been the JFCS go-to publication for all your volunteer needs and questions. Now, in order to cut down on the growing amount of email in your inbox, JFCS will merge our e-publications, e-directions and Mitzvah Madness. Beginning in 2015, you will see a new approach to promoting volunteer opportunities, within the sleek confines of e-directions. You'll get the same great information in a slimmed-down silhouette.

In the meantime, this is always such a busy time of year, with JFCS parties and events, and this year is no exception. Volunteers are needed for Hag Sameach delivery on Dec. 7 - a great family opportunity! Drivers also are needed for the MHSS Chanukah Bowling & Bingo Party later that day. And we always need more volunteers to connect with isolated, older adults - particularly at this time of year. Read on for all the details.

Have a healthy and happy Thanksgiving and Chanukah...and see you next year in January e-directions!

Hag Sameach Delivery Drivers Needed
Sunday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Pick up gifts at JFCS by 1 p.m. and delivery by 3 p.m.

As much fun as it is to receive a gift, especially when you are isolated or in need, it's even more rewarding to bring someone a gift. For the past 21 years, the JFCS Hag Sameach (Happy Holidays) Program has provided holiday gifts to referred families and individuals. This year Chanukah begins on Wednesday, Dec. 17, so preparations are underway!

This is a rewarding volunteer opportunity for families or individuals to bring gifts to homes and see the joy on faces as people receive their Hag Sameach packages. Each family or individual will deliver to 4-5 homes in the same area. Directions provided.

Space is limited. Please contact Joanne Savitt, Hag Sameach Coordinator, at [email protected] or 952-542-4870 to sign up.

Together you'll create a schedule that works for both of you. We just ask you make a commitment of two to three hours each week or every other week.
