From points as far as California, Pennsylvania, and Sweden, , three fiddling multi-instrumentalists unite for an evening of old-time and Swedish music at Seman Violins in Skokie, Illinois.

A child prodigy turned master fiddler Brittany Haas has played with many of the big names in American traditional music.  She grew up honing her craft at fiddle camps nationwide, and came to her unique sound through the old time fiddling of her mentors, Bruce Molsky and  Darol Anger.  From there she has gone on to play with Yonder Mountain String Band, Tony Trischka, Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas (her cellist sister), Abigail Washburn, and The Waybacks. She played her fiddle on Steve Martin's Grammy Award-winning CD "The Crow," and performed in his band on Letterman and SNL. She released her debut self-titled solo album at 17, produced by Darol Anger and featuring Bruce Molsky, Mike Marshall, Alison Brown and others.  She has also been the fiddler for the cult favorite band, Crooked Still.

Patrik Ahlberg is a Swedish native, fiddler, multi instrumentalist and violin making student now living in Chicago. Patrik focuses on contemporary fiddling as well as traditional Swedish and American fiddle styles. His mentors include Sergio Crisostomo (Stockholm Lisboa Project), Simon Stlspets (Svart Kaffe, Stockholm Lisboa Project) and Ingrid Ekman. Patrik has a Swedish bagpipes duo with his good friend and "Riksspelman" Anton Olausson.

Matt Brown teaches fiddle, banjo, and guitar to students of all ages at the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. Thanks to his banjo-playing father, Matt grew up with the old-time music of the Appalachian south. He learned old-time music from tradition bearers Brad Leftwich, Bruce Molsky, Rafe Stefanini, Paul Brown, Ginny Hawker, and Tracy Schwarz. Matt has toured as a soloist with the percussive dance ensembles Rhythm in Shoes and Footworks, and has made guest appearances with Tim O'Brien, The John Hartford Stringband, Uncle Earl, Dirk Powell & Riley Baugus, and Della Mae. Matt recently founded The House Carpenters, a Chicago bluegrass band that specializes in converting repertoire from old-time and early country music into a bluegrass context. His latest album, "My Native Home," includes collaborations with Tim O'Brien, Ben Krakauer, Brittany Haas, and Mark Schatz. Matt is also featured on "Dear Jean: Artists Celebrate Jean Ritchie," a 2014 release on Compass Records.
