This is an opportunity to release, de-stress, loosen up and feel good in your body while relaxing your mind! Comfortable, non-restrictive clothing is recommended, but feel free to wear anything from jeans to dress pants to leggings. There are extra mats but if you have a yoga mat, please bring it along. A Sociology of Pilgrimage: Embodiment, Identity, Transformation
King's professor Lesley Harman published an edited anthology of chapters concerning both sacred and secular pilgrimages in a contemporary context. A Sociology of Pilgrimage: Embodiment, Identity, Transformation was designed as a textbook for undergraduate courses in pilgrimage studies.
The London book launch will be held on Saturday, October 25th at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church at the corner of Wellington and St. James in Old North London. It will follow the annual fall meeting of the Camino Pilgrims of London Canada. Those of you who are interested in finding out more about the Camino are welcome to come to the meeting, where you will meet experts and enthusiasts, new and experienced pilgrims, and have all of your questions answered.
The meeting is scheduled to go from 10am-12pm with a break for a pot-luck lunch. The book launch will go from 1-3 pm. There will be several authors present on a panel to discuss their contributions to the book. Copies of the book will be for sale, as well as t-shirts. Admission is free.
