"Community.Memory.Dignity"
In conjunction with IALS, Anthony Barlich Photography and Missio Dei Logan Square.
In short, you're creating art works on top of portraits
created by Anthony Barlich. To be exact, you'll have the freedom to create an art work on top of a
16" x 24" matte print, mounted to 2-ply foam board. All mediums, interpretations and processes welcomed. You can view the portraits here

You do not have to create your work in the gallery space, however we would love for this to happen!
This is a "work in progress" gallery, so we would love to hang the work ASAP. Closing ceremony will take place January 23rd. The prints cost $35 each (along with your art materials and necessary tools to create your art work), will be an expense you will have to absorb as the artist. There will be a formal submission process. All works will be voted on by an IALS panel for acceptance into the gallery. Not all submissions will be accepted, however, we encourage you to submit all works for consideration. Have fun with this, respect the individual you're creating upon and consider the theme/values of the gallery when creating your submission: "Community.Dignity.Memory"

Ring in the New Year with this unique celebration that combines art installations with music to bring you a one of a kind experience. Chop Shop will be transformed into an otherworldy planet; with giant glowing jellyfish, glowing ice shards, strange sea creatures, a time warp portal and more. Giant, bioluminescent marine-life will flank the ceilings and halls of the 2-story, 12,000 sq. ft. venue, inviting guests into a projection mapped amphitheater of light and sound. Intelligent life will surround the "crashed Voyager probe" in an interstellar celebration of what it means to be alive. Laser-cut ice shards will reflect the unique aura of a distant world's atmosphere. Featuring internationally acclaimed performers Tokimonsta, ESTA, Flamingosis, DrmbBt and Edamame. Your ticket includes admission, open premium bar, food and access to the entire building. Presented by Canvas Chicago and ERA Galleries.
