Inspire Theatre Valentines Day Shows - Looking for an inspirational way to celebrate Valentine's Day? Look no further than this weekend's shows at Inspire Theatre (IT) of Westland, which is celebrating their Ten-Year Anniversary. The celebration includes evening dinner shows this Friday, 13th and Saturday, 14th at 6:30 p.m. and a Sunday, 15th show only at 3:00 p.m. Inspire Theatre is located at 5767 Executive Drive at the corner of Hix and Ford Road, in the Warehouse District of Westland. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday dinner shows are advanced sales only and can be purchased online at inspiretheatre.com or by calling the theatre line at 734-751-7057. Friday and Saturday's dinner shows are $25 and Sunday's show only is $13.

City Offices Closed for Presidents Day - City offices will be closed on Monday, February 16 in observance of Presidents' Day.  This includes the 18th District Court.  The William P. Faust Westland Public Library will be open and trash and recycling pick up will not be affected.

Scheduled Upcoming Civic Meetings - Residents are invited to attend the upcoming City meetings.  Below is a list of the meetings with their date, time and location. 

-The Disability Concerns Committee will meet on Tuesday, February 17 at 5:30 p.m. at Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.

-There will be an Open Study Session regarding online payments for sanitation services on Tuesday, February 17 at 6:00 p.m. in Council Conference Room in Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.

-The Westland City Council will meet on Tuesday, Febraury 17 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers of Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.

Friday Night Glow Skate - The Mike Modano Ice Arena has re-opened for the season and Friday Night Glow Skate is back.  Glow skate will run every Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:20 p.m. and will cost $4 for kids and $5 for adults for residents.  The cost is 50 cents more for non-resident.  Glow in the dark accessories will be available for purchase in the pro shop.  The Ice Arena is located at 6210 Wildwood.

Friends of the Library Book Sale - The Friends of the Library operate a Friends Shop which has over 4,000 used books for sale.  They are having a book sale on Friday, February 20 - Sunday, February 22 starting at noon each day.  There will be great books for sale at great prices and all proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Library.  The William P. Faust Westland Public Library is located at 6123 Central City Parkway.

Save the Date: Relay for Life Kick Off - Individuals interested in participating in this year's Westland-Wayne Relay for Life should attend the kick off party on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Grande Ballroom of Westland City Hall, located at 36300 Warren Rd.  Participants will receive important information regarding this year's event and tips for building a team and fundraising.
