Brian mentioned a few weeks ago on Instagram that we were doing a limited edition throw of a couple of your favorite stories. About ten minutes later, we started getting droves of emails asking if you could buy it. Right. Then. Yikes... |

Some of you asked exactly what it is we're calling a throw. We think it's a good question, because everyone has a different name for it. Some people call it a lap blanket. Or an afghan. But it's all the same thing. It's a warm, people-sized blanket that you can wrap up in while you're sitting by the fire, or when you're drinking tea in the morning while the whole house is still a little chilly & quiet before the day starts up...

Here's the fun news. The final samples came in the other day. We took one look & said Yes.

To tell you the whole truth, there was quite a discussion over who got to have them first. For...umm...testing purposes. Yeah. That's it. So we can be sure that they're going to be a good thing for you. It had nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that they're beautifully woven & they look like a watercolor painting. Or that it's the kind of cloth that makes you want to put it up against your face & just breathe it in. Or that they actually feel like a cozy thing you want to carry around with you all day long...

Of course, we ordered them. But here's the thing you need to know: we didn't order a lot. We picked two of your favorite stories. There's Enough Time because it's a perfect reminder to slow down & enjoy the life you've got right now. & there's Such Small Things, which is a perfect story if you've got a new baby in your life & you're still completely held in the glowing magic & grace of what that oh so new small person means. |
They're due in the first week of October, but you can pre-order them this very second. (Just so you know, with our new StoryPeople site, it's pretty easy now to pre-order things like the new throws. You just order like usual & when it comes in & we ship it, that's when we charge your credit card. No fuss. No bother. Yay!) |

We're not really doing one of those Act Now Or You'll Lose Out things. Because it's not like we can't order more (& we probably will, with different stories as we go along...) The throws are woven by a family-owned business in South Carolina & they're happy to do more. (Whew!) But they'll take time, especially with the holidays starting to race towards us. So, we've got a limited amount of each throw & when they're gone, they're gone until later in the year.

Except maybe for a few of them, because we'll be walking around in the studio all wrapped up in them. Can you say Tea break? :-)

P.S. Just so you know, there are lots of other things at the studio right now that you don't have to wait for. Like the new 2015 calendar. Which is about as perfect a gift as you can give to just about anybody on that list you know you're going to have. We like to have a few on hand for when we're off to a last minute holiday thingie & we need to bring something so it looks like we'd been planning for it all along. Mwa ha ha... |
Or this year's limited edition holiday ornaments. Which, unlike the throws, is a true limited edition. Because we make them ourselves before the holiday rush starts & so once we're out this year, we're out. |
