NATIONAL POETRY MONTH PARTY APRIL 22 Kickoff for new music and literary series in Detroit's Eastern Market
Bert's Entertainment Complex will host a new music and literary series every Wednesday evening beginning April 22 through Fall. The Wednesdays LIVE @ Bert's will showcase musical, literary and dramatic acts with an "after-work affair" flair. Headliners include:
Tracy Kash, flautist, vocalist, pianist, composer and Detroit Music Awards winner
Angela Celeste May
, vocalist, bandleader, and producer
Dwayne Collins, Motown Guitarist and member of the Next Generation Funk Brothers
YOUR POETRY HOST:
Kahn Santori Davison, famed Detroit-area photographer and author of the upcoming poetry collection
BLAZE. Kahn will host the "Kahn & Friends" segment with featured authors.
The kickoff party for Wednesdays LIVE @ Bert's begins on

Poetry Grand Prize:

The Willow Books Literature Awards recognize literary excellence in prose and poetry by writers from culturally diverse backgrounds. The 2014 Grand Prize winners are David Garvin and Rachelle Linda Escamilla.
The submission deadline for entries is APRIL 30, 2015.

ANNOUNCING
AUTOMATION by April Gibson Chapbook Willow Books Emerging Poets & Writers Series
April Gibson is a poet and essayist. Her work has appeared in Pluck!, Naugatuck River Review, As/Us, Tidal Basin Review, Literary Mama and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Chicago State University. April was selected for the Loft Literary Center's 2014 Mentor Series Award in Poetry. She resides in the Twin Cities with her two sons, though Chicago is where her heart lives.
