Helping elders, caregivers and persons with disabilities live better lives since 1974

Volume 6, Issue 6 November 2014
|
Caregivers give of themselves every day. They are unsung heroes and heroines who do what needs to be done. They are often preoccupied with the needs of others and put themselves on the back burner.
Though it is difficult to carve out time for yourself, it is really important to take care of your physical and mental health when you are caring for others. It will help you, help the one you love, and help your overall schedule remain as uninterrupted as possible.

Thanksgiving offerings for local seniors
|
Every year, local seniors age sixty and over and their spouses enjoy a special holiday meal during the week before Thanksgiving at Senior Dining Centers and Luncheon Clubs across Franklin County and the North Quabbin region.
Menu items for this year's celebrations will include turkey with gravy, stuffing, whipped potatoes, green bean casserole, whole wheat dinner rolls, and cranberry sauce, with an apple-raisin crisp and whipped cream or a baked, spiced apple for dessert.
Call your local dining center or luncheon club to find out if and when they're participating in the special meal this year and to reserve your spot. You do not have to reside in the community in which you dine. Find a complete listing with phone numbers here.
