Spring Goodie Box Stuffing

It's that time of year again! Spring Goodie Box Stuffing will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 8:00 am until 1:00 pm at the UNT Alumni Center. Due to the high number of goodie boxes we will be stuffing, we need as many volunteers as possible. There will be a Parent Association meeting following Goodie Box Stuffing, so please, join us!

RSVP here if you plan on attending the spring Goodie Box stuffing event. Hope to see you there!

Making plans for summer 2014?

Please invite your student to consider attending classes at UNT. Summer session offers many advantages over regular long semesters:
  • Staying on track for an early or on-time graduation
  • Catching up if a student dropped or did not pass a class during fall or spring semesters
  • Completing pre-requisites for fall classes
  • Attending smaller classes with more one-on-one interaction with professors
  • Taking unique classes that are only offered at this time of year
  • Avoiding tuition and fee increases in future semesters
  • Participating in study abroad, internships, and fun student activities

Students should consult with their advisor or follow the registrar's webpage for more information about summer course offerings and registration deadlines.

Parent Association Scholarship

The UNT Parent Association is still accepting applications for the "Draw" Scholarship. The number of scholarships given depends on the availability of funds with a minimum of five $500 scholarships awarded in the Draw category. For each recipient, the amount awarded is split evenly between the following fall and spring semesters. The scholarships are given to an undergraduate or graduate student who has attended one full semester at UNT. Summer sessions are not considered full semesters. Students may re-apply for the scholarships annually and students can receive a Parent Association scholarship multiple times during their collegiate experience at UNT.

The deadline for the Parent Association "Draw" Scholarship is April 1, 2014. Click Here to download the scholarship application.

Ten Suggestions for College Parents to
Help Students Through the Stress of Midterm Exams

"Midterm exam time is a stressful time for most students. For many students, midterm exam time comes as a wake-up call. The beginning of the semester has progressed smoothly, or so it seems, and then suddenly your student realizes how much there still is to do on that paper or project, or how many chapters are yet unread, or how much material must be memorized for an exam. Although some students may have had large midterm or final exams in high school, for some students this may be a new experience. This may be one of the first big college reality checks for your student."
