Yes, the weather is getting cooler, and sadly, that means the end of the triathlon season. But you've got one last opportunity to end your season with the Royal Treatment! Join us at The Queen of Bermuda Triathlon presented by Bacardi on November 9, 2014. Yep, we're back with a great girls' weekend and triathlon tradition with the launch of the season finale of the Queen of Triathlon Series, supported in part by our friends at the Bermuda Department of Tourism. Join us with your friends and family at our beautiful host hotel, The Fairmont Southampton, for a weekend of racing and relaxation!
The race options include a Sprint Triathlon (.8K/.5 mile Swim, 20K/12.4 mile Bike and 5K/3.1 mile Run), or Duathlon (1.6K/1 mile Run, 20K/12.4 mile Bike and 5K/3.1 mile Run). We know it can be expensive and cumbersome to bring your bike, so consider these options:
Rent a bike on island
We have found the perfect rental spot on island, right next to our host hotel, The Fairmont Southampton. You can reserve a Mountain Bike online at Elbow Beach Cycles HERE! The cost for a 2 or 3 day rental ranges from about $45-$60.
Form a Relay Team
Pay for one bike to be shipped over and split the cost between a two or three person team and share your room!
Swim and Run for the Charity
Register as an Individual, but don't ship your bike. We'll use one of the on-island pro's bike finish time for your bike leg of the race. All you need to do is swim and run and do 20 push-ups ("girl" push-ups count!). You won't be eligible for age-group awards and we'll ask you to make a small donation to the charity, but you can brag to your friends back home about how much your bike split improved!
Here's a snapshot of race weekend in BERMUDA:
- It's just a 2-hour flight from most east coast cities
- Enjoy the 4-star luxury host hotel at the Fairmont Southampton with its world class Willow Stream Spa and great restaurants. Your hotel package includes transfers to and from the airport, and brunch.
- Friday evening, November 7: Welcome reception sponsored by Bacardi at Bacardi Headquarters in downtown Hamilton, just a short scenic ferry ride from the Fairmont Southampton
- Saturday, November 8: Yoga on the pink beaches, ride and swim the courses before packet pick-up in the afternoon.
- Sunday, November 9: Race is on, followed by royal post-race fare. Enjoy your day on the island.
- Did we mention post-race massages and on-course assistance from Bermuda Rugby Classic players?!?!
- Sprint triathlon, duathlon, relay teams, survivor wave - everyone races in Bermuda!
- Early Sunday evening Awards Ceremony hosted by the Fairmont Southampton Hotel, then party with friends
