November 19 Free Webinar:

Drought Planning Toolbox: State Strategies for Mitigation and Adaptation

Clean Drinking Water
Since 1980, drought has been the fourth most common type of disaster in the U.S. and the second most costly. In 1998, more than one-third of the U.S. was affected by drought, with an event covering the West Coast to the upper Midwest. In 2007, a drought hit Georgia, resulting in interstate conflicts over water rights. Drought is becoming an increasingly important issue for planners at the local, regional and state levels.

Join the National Collaborative of State Planners as it hosts a webinar, Drought Planning Toolbox: Strategies for Mitigation and Adaptation, at 1-2:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 19. Speakers from California, Colorado and the Susquehanna River Basin Commission will share their experiences and best practices in preparing for and responding to drought through mitigation, adaptation and planning. 1.5 AICP credits pending.
