Artist Hannah Rothstein envisions Thanksgiving Dinner as prepared by famous artists. 3 Ways to Express Your Gratitude for the Arts
Thanksgiving has arrived and this year the Arts Commission encourages you to express your gratitude for the arts in Arizona. Not sure how? We have a few suggestions:
  1. Shop the Arts. Museum memberships, art classes, tickets to performances, and works of art make great gifts, and increasingly artists and arts organizations are hopping on the Black Friday & Cyber Monday bandwagon. Don't miss your chance at a great deal on a truly creative gift.
  2. Give to the Arts. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is now Giving Tuesday, a "national day of giving." We hope you'll remember the vital contributions made by nonprofit arts organizations in your community and consider donating a little something extra this year to the ones that mean the most to you.
  3. Thank Your Legislators. Did you or an organization your are affiliated with receive a grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts this year? Be sure to write a letter of thanks to your legislators. Let them know how you are using this funding to enrich your community and thank them for their continued support of the arts. For more ideas about how to communicate the value of public funding for the arts to elected officials, please contact our friends at Arizona Citizens for the Arts.
