Downtown Bulverde Village:  What would you like to see?
The overall study is assessing existing conditions (infrastructure and the natural environment); the supply and demand for various land uses and building types; and the community's aspirations for Downtown Bulverde Village. At yesterday's workshop, participants were asked for their opinion on preliminary concepts for land use, transportation, and urban design that were created, plus feedback from the first community workshop and the first online survey.

Input from this second community workshop will be studied as the final recommendation is drafted for presentation to the City Council on January 13, 2015.   Interested persons are also encouraged to complete an online survey which will be posted on the City of Bulverde website on approximately October 10 and remain open until October 31.

The survey is another opportunity for the community to share thoughts and ideas that will help create the vision for Downtown Bulverde Village.

rylan

The Baby Rylan Medical Fundraiser is underway to support a Bulverde Spring Branch Fire Department family.  Born in July, the infant has been fighting for his life with an inexplicable condition that continues to baffle his doctors. Little Rylan Padilla struggles with an erratic heartbeat and poor oxygen levels, and the inability to swallow. The basic functions he needs to thrive are challenged.

Rylan is the first child of Robby and Sandy Padilla.  Robby is a Bulverde-Spring Branch Fire Captain and Sandy is an LVN.  The raffle will be held on November 9 to benefit Rylan's fight and there are several terrific prizes and getaways available.  All proceeds will be used to offset Rylan's medical expenses.

The raffle includes:

1st prize: Two-Nights Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa

2nd prize: RedHead Gun Safe ($899.99 value)

3rd prize: One-Night JW Marriott Resort and Spa and TPC golf for two

4th prize: Two-Nights Fredericksburg's Romantic Cotton Gin Village

5th prize: Yeti Tundra 50 Cooler "Built for the Wild" ($379.99 value)

Raffle tickets are $10 each and can be purchased by cash or check locally through November 8:

1.      Hendrix Auto Repair located at 74276 US Hwy 281 North Spring Branch, TX.  Business hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-5:00pm; 830-438-4355

2.      Broadway Bank located at 20440 Hwy 46 West Spring Branch, TX.  Business hours are Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm & Saturday 9:00am-1:00pm; 830-438-8381

Drawing will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Bulverde Spring Branch Fire Station #1 in Spring Branch, TX.  You need not be present to win.  Learn more about Rylan's story and his medical fundraiser at www.rescue4rylan.com.   The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated and prayed for them during this difficult time and for your support of the fire department brotherhood.
