NEW YORK FIREFIGHTER DIES IN QUARTERS-LODD

We regret to pass on to you that a veteran Summit (Schoharie County, NY, SW of Albany) Firefighter died after being stricken inside the firehouse Tuesday night while he was helping other Firefighters getting ready to deploy to western New York to assist in the aftermath of the blizzard. James Foote, 57, one of the Summit Fire Department Commissioners collapsed in quarters and while treatment was immediate, he tragically died at Cobleskill Hospital. Our condolences to all those affected. RIP.

DRAFT REPORT VS FINAL REPORT? QUESTIONS CONTINUE FROM DALLAS.

A 703-page draft of the Dallas Fire-Rescue line-of-duty death report on Stanley Wilson is far more critical of the incident commander than the official version released by the department weeks ago....raising even more questions of command, control, communication, accountability and integrity.

WTF?! RACIST BS FROM A MINORITY FIRE CHIEF

Nasty comments, even racist ones aren't new-and while they should be a part of a vile history...they aren't and certainly are alive and well. Freedom of speech-absolutely...but...not when it impacts those we "swore" to serve regardless of.....

When all else fails, the public has confirmed-and we have proven time and time again that:

...we are there when you need us.

...we strive to save.

...we are always on the job.

...service for others.

...deeds not words.

...service above self.

We-and others try to make it clear that firefighters will

never

care about the color, race, religion, nationality etc of those we serve...we'll guess that 99% of those in our service get it....but the BS flag has been tossed once again. As sad as it seems, not all firefighters are willing to go out of their way for anyone who may need our help. Even in a non-emergency situation.,it just depends...at least according to one

minority

fire chief. Ingenious play on words by us---how 'bout that?!----he's the minority-the great minority at least in the context of being in the minority of local, Kentucky and North American firefighters, officers and chiefs who could even think and act this way in 2014.

Thankfully.
