* The provence of Beaujolais sits between Burgundy and the Rhone Valley.

* Gamay Noir is the grape varietal grown in Beaujolais.

2014 Pierre Chermette Beaujolais Nouveau

Chermette's property is in Beaujolais and they make incredible Beaujolais that can be aged. They are a great alternative to Burgundy at a savings. The Nouveaus comes from 5 hectares(12.5 acres) of Gamay at Le Bois d'Oingt on a limestone-clay soil that gives suppleness and fruitiness to this cuve. They add in grapes from Saint Vrand that come from granitic soil to give supple tannins.
