Poetry in the Community - Detroit Public Library
Branch Locations ...

Mark James Andrews

Mark James Andrews has had a full and checkered career as a gravedigger, inspector at a defunct auto plant and jail librarian. His latest book is Compendium 20/20, fresh from Deadly Chaps Press (2014). He continues to live and write just outside the Detroit city limits most of the time and claims no guru, no method and no PHD.

Keir Jackson

Keir (key-air) was born in Detroit and graduated from Michigan State University.  While working, he went to one of the best recording schools in the Detroit area, to become a recording engineer.  Keir performs four different types of poetry set to music: lyric poetry, narrative poetry, prose poetry and love poetry.  The poetry and music sounds like a cross between Jill Scott, Kirk Franklin, Gill Scott Heron and Erykah Badu.
