TRC Groundbreaking
Construction starts on $9M Tiffin Rehabilitation Center
The momentum continues. More than 20 announcements or investments these past two months. Wow!

Ground was broken for the (1) new $9M, 55-job Tiffin Rehabilitation Center and Sojourn at Seneca project. The (2) new $1.4M Frost-Kalnow Stadium and (3) Tiffin University Italian-American Memorial were dedicated. Ribbon was cut on the new (4) Murphy Academic Support Center at Tiffin University. (5) Atlas Industries, (6) Attica Fair, (7) Eden Township, and (8-11) four property owners downtown moved forward with investment. (12) Pat Catan's, (13) Impact Credit Union, (14) Fraser Clemens law firm, (15) Sabaidee Coffee House, (16) Cash Max, (17) Shear Elegance either opened or announced they would open. The (18) Seneca County Airport held an open house to discuss their expansion plans. (19) Burns Electric celebrated their 50th anniversary, and (20) National Machinery their 140th.

Clover Club
Clover Club is receiving a facade enhancement grant
This month, we're going to focus on resources for downtown businesses and property owners:

1. Facade Enhancement Program - provides a 50% reimbursement grant up to $10,000 for exterior building improvements.

 

2. Community Reinvestment Area - provides a 100% tax break for eligible real property improvements in historic downtown. 

 

3. Downtown Development Coordinator - hired in June to implement Main Street approach and help downtown businesses and property owners

 

4. Historic Preservation Tax Credits - there are tax credits that can help fund up to 45% (25% state and 20% federal) of a privately-owned project in a historic district. 

 

5. Architectural Board of Review - Mayor-appointed board that approves exterior changes to buildings, demo, and new construction. Protects investors and property values by applying consistent design guidelines.
