Join us in celebrating Halloween in a unique way!!
When:
Friday, October 31, 2014
8:30am to 4:00pm
Where:
484 Division Street,
Elgin, IL 60120
We officially began working on this house in the Elgin Historic District on Saturday, October 4, so this project is still in the beginning stages of construction. Please come prepared for the following potential projects:
- Interior framing
- Exterior trim and siding prep (scraping, caulking holes, patching siding)
- Exterior painting prep
Please come dressed appropriately for construction, but feel free to be safely creative if you choose to wear a costume. Some Habitat-inspired costumes include:
Nicole Curtis, the Rehab Addict
(wear thick-rimmed glasses)
The Carpenters from Cupcake Wars
(dress in a flannel shirt and grow a beard - like a lumberjack!)
President Jimmy Carter
(wear a red bandanna around your neck)
The Big Bad Wolf from the Three Little Pigs
(we hope you won't be able to huff and puff and blow this house down!)
We're sure there's many more ways you could be creative and think of costumes that would be appropriate to build houses in!! Whether or not you choose to dress up, please come prepared to work hard, but know that candy will be available all day for any and all breaks you need to take!!
