I recently launched the Professional Women's Network of Durango where our mission is to connect professional women and foster inspiration, creativity and leadership.  No more than 8 weeks after the idea was penned on paper, the PWN launch party drew in over 100 businesswomen, all from the Four Corners area.  The need for this in our community was made abundantly clear.  From every demographic and industry, we brought different experiences but shared the belief that women can be empowered when they band together. 

At our first event, I made an instant connection with Alicia Hernandez, Manager, Administrative Information Systems at Fort Lewis College. IT women stick together, so I was naturally interested in her story.  That's when Alicia mentioned she previously was a contributor with Examiner.com and wrote about Women in Technology.  Coincidentally, I was actively revamping our #ThinkPress monthly newsletter and blog and looking for someone to help with our technical writing.  Voila!  A match was made.  Congratulations to our very own Think Technical Writer.  She's passionate, informative, and has a unique way making all these terribly confusing terms quite user-friendly.
