Time for DREAM NYC: Sue�os 2014

November is our month to shine in the big city! We invite all our supporters to join our biggest event of the year, Sue�os 2014 in Tribeca, New York City. This is our opportunity to bring our greater, global community together for the DR's most important education based non profit, with amazing live music, celebrities, food, drink, auction items, artwork and amazing conversation. And the Prize for Excellence in Education Goes to...

DREAM is honored to receive one of the most prestigious awards for education in the country, the Brugal Award. This is, as always, a team effort and we are so incredibly proud of our staff, our board, our parents, our communities and most importantly, our more than 4,500 youth served. Funds from the award will be used to work hand in hand with the Ministry of Education to provide school libraries, children's books and innovative literacy programs in local public schools.

Cigar Country Night
in Santo Domingo

This November 6th, join us in Santo Domingo for our second annual benefit. Our host is Cigar Country and the hottest restaurant in the city, Lulu, with the very best of everything Dominican, from food, drink, music... even Miss Dominican Republic will join! Celebrating the Border of Light

As we do each year, DREAM was honored to participate in Border of Lights, an event which remembers the history of Dajab�n, the DR and our most important neighbor, Haiti. With Founding DREAM Honorary Chairwoman Julia Alvarez leading the way, we reconnected to our shared history, met new friends and commemorated the event with a beautiful mural.

What if all learning started at home at the earliest age? DREAM believes young mothers and families can get started as soon as possible, which has been the inspiration for our DREAM Parent Education Program, offering tips and techniques for learning at home with 2 year olds. This support network has been a huge hit and opens the door to a new culture of education.

DREAMers of the Month

Friends School of Wilmington

DREAM's newest Service Group Partner, Friends School of Wilmington, has been an inspiration for the community of Villa Liberaci�n in Sosua this month. Our service group participants have been repainting and fixing up the public basketball court and working with our Peace Corps Volunteer Queenie in the local elementary school. As our fifteenth and final group of 2014, we couldn't have asked for a more motivated or hard working group!
