Governor Brown Issues First-Ever
Statewide Mandatory Water Restrictions
Following the lowest snowpack ever recorded and with no end to the drought in sight, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. announced actions that will save water, increase enforcement to prevent wasteful water use, streamline the state's drought response and invest in new technologies that will make California more drought resilient.

Mr. Brown, in an executive order, directed the State Water Resources Control Board to impose a 25 percent reduction on the state's 400 local water supply agencies, which serve 90 percent of California residents, over the coming year. The agencies will be responsible for coming up with restrictions to cut back on water use and for monitoring compliance. State officials said the order would impose varying degrees of cutbacks on water use across the board - affecting homeowners, farms and other businesses.

Speak Up for Safe and Reliable Power
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has issued its Environmental Impact Report (EIR) that identified three preferred project alternatives - none of which provide a reliable and redundant system built in a timely manner.

We need the South Orange County Reliability Enhancement (SOCRE) project built to ensure a reliant electrical transmission system for our needs today and in the future.

Please click on this link to send a letter to the CPUC to ask them to approve the San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) SOCRE project as proposed.
