On a recent tutoring afternoon, a fourth grader named Adam came to my desk eager to share his meticulously crafted story. I remember when Adam joined 826CHI in first grade, limited English proficiency left him with trepidations about writing. Since then, he has spent more than 600 hours working one-on-one with volunteers to translate his vivid imagination into equally expressive words on paper.

As students like Adam continue to gain confidence and 826CHI continues to grow, it's a rewarding feeling to pause and give thanks to the people who make moving forwards possible, you. It is only because of your support that we can continue to provide free and attentive instruction and inspiring publishing opportunities to more than 3,500 students who live in under-resourced neighborhoods.

Please join our community of supporters by making a gift this season.

My sincerest thanks,
Kendra Curry-Khanna
Executive Director
