Nicholson Appointed to Disability Concerns Committee 

Westland, MI - Mayor William R. Wild has appointed Westland resident Don Nicholson to serve on the Disability Concerns Committee. Nicholson will serve a three year term expiring in October 2017. 


 

Nicholson was once the District Manager for Hi-Tec One Hour Photo, the first one hour photo lab at the Westland Mall and only the second in the entire state. Nicholson has also helped organize community events such as the All-American Cruise and Cruisin' Hines Drive. He is also the founder and organizer for Autos for Autism. 

 

An active member of the Westland Community, Nicholson also serves as a Board Member of the Westland Chamber of Commerce and the Friends of Nankin Mills, and was a past Building Board Member for the Western Wayne Skill Center. 

 

"I am excited to welcome Don Nicholson to the Disability Concerns Committee and I am confident he will excel in this role," said Mayor Wild, "His experience and track-record of community service will make him a valuable asset to the group." 

 

The Disability Concerns Committee's aims to research, educate, encourage and promote community involvement in the acknowledgement of the needs and concerns of disabled citizens. To further these principles, they seek to promote community awareness and accessibility for everyone.


The Committee meets on the third Monday of every month at the Friendship Center at 5:30 pm. The Friendship Center is located 1119 Newburgh Rd, and the Committee's next meeting is Monday, October 20.
