The Implementation of the "Hidden Gas Tax" is January 1, 2015Expect the cost of gas to go up in 2015, after the "cap and trade" regulations focus on gas companies. CAWA has been in coalition with other business groups to delay implementation, however, state government officials are not inclined to delay. So expect gas prices to rise. John Passante, author of "The Human Side, Human Touch Leadership in a High Tech World" was our keynote speaker and his presentation was well received by the attendees. Mark your calendars for next year's event which will be held the Sunday night before AAPEX (November 1, 2015 in Las Vegas).

The Margin Tax Initiative in Nevada, Opposed by CAWA, Was Destroyed in the November ElectionThe election results showed 78.75% voted no to 21.25% voting yes. CAWA had given $4,000 in political action funds to the coalition developed to oppose the initiative. If passed, companies with annual revenues over $1 million would have to pay 2% to the state regardless of profit gained from the revenues. Another tax scheme by government officials. Thanks to all members in Nevada and all those in the silver state that voted no! For more information on election results, contact our Nevada based legislative advocate, David Brown at [email protected] or 702.860.8282.
