 Non-stop sports action
If you're one to enjoy sports, whether that means participating or watching, there are a ton of opportunities in Charlotte County this winter and spring. Below are just a few events to put on your calendar.
Snowbird Baseball Classic
This is the largest annual tournament featuring Div. I and III college teams from across the country from Feb. 13 to April 1. For schedules, check out www.snowbirdbaseball.info.
Tampa Bay Rays
Who can forget spring training for the Tampa Bay Rays?Between March 5 to April 2, there will be an estimated 17 spring training home games at Charlotte Sports Park, which was voted the top spring training facility by USA Today in 2014. International Air Show
High-speed military jets and acrobatic performers will be at the Punta Gorda Airport on March 27-30. Modernize Your Outdoor House Numbers
"In just minutes (and using tools you likely have on hand), you can refresh your home's curb appeal with a new set of house numbers. Go for a style or color that picks up on a detail on your home's exterior, and place them in an easy-to-see spot. For even more punch, consider placing an accent uplight or downlight that draws attention to the numbers during nighttime hours."

Swap Out a Doorknob
"Tired finishes or worn-out hardware can make doors unappealing elements in the overall look of a room. A fresh doorknob can give new life to a door, and it's an easy project. Simply remove the old plate and hardware and install the new, following the manufacturer's directions. Or you can paint the old hardware using a metal-appropriate spray paint. Tip: You may need to touch up paint or stain on the door around the new plate if the old hardware is a different size."
